No more hours of keywording.
Tagmatti recognises who and what is in your photos. You confirm with one click, and the names and keywords are then stored in the image metadata and in Lightroom. For sport, weddings, events, schools and any photo archive.
Version 1.4.1 · Runs locally, your photos never leave your computer · Installation guide
Why Tagmatti
No more photo by photo.
Keywording eats up time because you handle every photo individually. Tagmatti turns that around: you work with groups and suggestions, not single photos.
Before
- Open every photo and type in names
- Search for and add keywords for every photo individually
- Same person, same subject, the same work over and over
- The archive stays half-tagged because there's no time
With Tagmatti
- Identical faces are already grouped: one name applies to all photos
- Describe a keyword once, Tagmatti suggests the matching photos
- Confirm or reject suggestions with one click
- Everything ends up as keywords in Lightroom, findable in any search
People
One name. Every photo of that person.
Tagmatti finds all faces and groups identical people. You type the name once and press Enter. Once someone has been named, they're recognised again in the next shoot.
- Load team lists from CSV or start without any list
- If a face doesn't fit: one click removes it from the group
- Simply hide opponents or spectators
Keywords
Describe it once. Tagmatti finds the rest.
Fans, mascots, bridal bouquet, stage, company logo: create a keyword, describe it or mark a few example photos. Tagmatti finds all matching photos in the shoot and you just confirm.
- Ready-made lists for football, weddings and events, or your own
- By hand: select several photos, type a keyword, press Enter
- Rejected suggestions never come back

Who's in which photo? Without spending evenings at the computer.
Lightroom
Speaks Lightroom. In both directions.
Photos already tagged? Tagmatti imports names and keywords from your catalogue. It writes new ones back, as XMP next to the RAWs or as a new catalogue. Your originals stay untouched.
Import
Named faces and keywords from Lightroom are applied to the same photos in Tagmatti. Lightroom can stay open.
Write
Names as people, your keywords as keywords: straight into the catalogue, as a new catalogue or as XMP. Tagmatti makes a backup before every change to the catalogue.
Added value for Lightroom
Lightroom stays. Tagmatti takes the tedious work off your hands.
Tagmatti doesn't replace Lightroom, it works alongside it. What you'd do photo by photo in Lightroom, you do here in groups and with suggestions. The result goes back into your catalogue.

Questions
FAQ
What is Tagmatti?
Tagmatti is an app for Mac and Windows that recognises people and image content in photos. You confirm the suggestions with one click, and the names and keywords are then stored in the image metadata and in Lightroom Classic. So you no longer have to tag photos one by one.
Does Tagmatti work with Lightroom Classic?
Yes. Tagmatti imports names and keywords from your Lightroom catalogue and writes new ones back: straight into the catalogue (with a backup), as a new catalogue or as XMP files next to the RAWs, which Lightroom picks up with “Read Metadata from File”.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Recognition runs locally on your computer. There's no cloud and no account. Only on first launch does the app download its AI components from the internet.
How do the names get into a photo database?
Tagmatti writes the names into standard metadata: the IPTC field “Person shown”, as keywords and as face regions. Photo databases, media portals and agencies that read metadata show the names automatically on upload. When exporting from Lightroom, leave “Remove Person Info” unchecked.
Can I use my own keywords?
Yes. You create your own keywords or use ready-made lists for football, weddings or events. With a description or a few example photos, Tagmatti suggests all matching photos in the shoot.
Which files and cameras are supported?
RAW files from common cameras (for example Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, including the Sony A7 V) as well as JPG, TIFF and DNG. Tagmatti never changes your originals.
What do I need?
A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 13 or later, or a PC with Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). Lightroom Classic is optional.
Why does my computer show a warning the first time I open it?
Tagmatti isn't registered with Apple and Microsoft yet. You can confirm the warning in a few clicks; the installation guide above shows every step.
Your archive, finally findable.
Download, drag in a folder, confirm. On first launch Tagmatti downloads its AI components once, which takes a few minutes.
